Cater Diamond: 

  • Cater tried to not be an uptight, helicopter parent but he wanted to assure that his daughter didn’t fall to the same pressures that he did. He’s constantly worried that he might be negatively influencing her due to the constant stories he tells about NRC but you tell him that he’s not weird for worrying. All parents do is worry but you know he’s doing his best and your daughter had adored him from the day she could open her eyes. They’ve always had a close bond and you doubt there was much that could break it with how carefully you and Cater raised her. 
  • Cater cares very deeply about your daughter, she’s his pride and joy and he sees so much of himself in her. The one thing that he gave her that he himself didn’t have is stability, a solid place to call home with friends she could make close, secure bonds with. He knows she might not appreciate them while she’s young but he had fought tooth and nail to get over his own personal issues, to the point he might not have even had her with you if he didn’t realize he couldn’t keep lying to himself. 
  • Cater knew as she grew older that she would likely spend more time with herself so he took the little things they did together and cherished them while he could. He loved when she would come plop herself down with him on the couch to watch shows with him, or when she’d sit on his lap and tell him she wanted him to braid her hair. She would also ask for advice on cute outfits as she valued his opinion above all else and they had similar taste in cute things, something that didn’t die off even when she was in her teenage years (you were relieved that she’d drag him out shopping with her rather than you).
