Cater Diamond: 

  • Cater tries to prep you beforehand like you’re about to head into battle, his older sisters can be a bit much to handle and his parents aren’t much better. They’re a high-energy household that even exhausted him and he had lived in it his entire life. You almost feel like he’s trying to scare you into not meeting them quite yet and you’re tempted to ask if this was too big a step in your relationship but Cater senses your mood, lightening up and trying not to think it’s the end of the world. 
  • His sisters are a little judgmental of the type of person he’s dating. They’re not necessarily outwardly mean to you but there seems to be a lot of opinions flying back and forth between them about everything having to do with you, including your opinions, hobbies, grades, etc. Cater can tell that you’re getting nervous and reaches under the table to grab your hand, smiling at you brightly as if to show you’re not alone. And you weren’t as his sisters dug into him immediately about anything they could see, even teasing him about the fact he was clearly holding your hand under the table. 
  • Once the initial meeting is over with they’re far friendlier towards you as they’ve assessed you’re a perfectly fine significant other for their beloved little brother. They treat you like they’ve known you for years, asking about fashion and make-up, curious about your opinions on the current styles, asking for your Instablam handle so they could follow you. Cater is still sweating bullets but he knew his sisters didn’t really have it in them to be ‘fake’ to a person not worth their time so you had clearly passed their tests but he was still stressed about how you might be feeling after all of this. 
  • When you admit you hadn’t expected the meeting to be that intense Cater gets a wave of anxiety washing over him, wondering if you’d tell him he and his family were too much for you to handle. He’s ready to plead his case which includes getting a house on the very outskirts of the land of Pyroxene so you wouldn’t have to interact with them often but when your face softens, he realized it’s not a bargain you’re looking for. He hugged you against his chest and kissed the top of your head, thanking you for coming with him and glad that the first day was over with so the two of you could get some much needed rest.
